Tribune National Ad Chief Joins 'Newsday'

By: E&P Staff Ken DePaola, who headed Tribune Co.'s national cross-platform ad sales as president of Tribune Media Net, has resigned to take a top executive job at Newsday, Chicago Tribune media writer Phil Rosenthal reported Tuesday.

As of noon Tuesday, Cablevision Systems Corp., which bought Newsday from Tribune earlier this year, had not confirmed the move.

DePaola joined Tribune's flagship Chicago Tribune in 2001 as vice president for advertising, marketing, and sales. He had previously been associated publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times and president and publisher of its subsidiary Midwest Suburban Publishing.

In addition, Terry Jimenez has been appointed chief operating officer/chief financial officer of Newsday Media Group. Jimenez had been chief financial officer of Newsday and served as publisher of amNewYork.

Tim Martin was promoted to vice president of human resources and labor relations. Martin joined Newsday last year as human resources director, and before that, he was human resources manager at DaimlerChrysler in Detroit.
