Tribune Publishing to Switch to Metered Digital Pay Model

Tribune Publishing, owner of newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Baltimore Sun, will introduce a metered digital subscription model across all of its titles.

Tribune's newspapers currently use a premium digital pay model, with certain content available only to subscribers. In a metered model, readers can access a limited number of online articles for free before hitting a paywall requiring them to subscribe.
