Tribune Sells Boston TV Station

By: E&P Staff The Tribune Co. has sold WLVI-TV in Boston to Sunbeam Television for $113.7 million the company said today.

The company announced in May it planned raise $500 million through asset sales. So far, the company has made $420 million. Tribune is currently reviewing bids for the San Fernando property where the Los Angeles Times printing facility was closed earlier this year.

Tribune acquired WLVI from Gannett in 1994 for $25 million.

Sunbeam also operates the local NBC affiliate station in Boston.
