By: E&P Staff Tribune's 11 metro newspapers, including The Sun in Baltimore, the Los Angeles Times, and Newsday, are participating in the Audit Bureau of Circulations insert verification program (IVS). The Chicago Tribune took part in the pilot audit.
"Tribune newspapers have adopted industry recommended best practices and regularly measure preprint accuracy internally," Vince Casanova, Tribune's vice president of circulation, said in a release. "We're confident we are delivering a high level of accuracy at our newspapers, and look forward to being able to share those good results with our customers."
The
new program is a quantitative review of a newspaper's preprint advertising. ABC auditors will verify inserts using sample newspapers at the delivery route level.
Craig Sinclair, vice president of advertising at Walgreen, said in a statement, "I am extremely pleased that Tribune's daily newspapers have decided to support this program."
ABC said today that 21 members have enrolled in the new service since it launched on Jan. 1.
