By: E&P Staff Newsday, in Trinidad and Tobago, just off the coast of Venezuela, ordered two inserters from GMA, Allentown, Pa. The purchase included two remanufactured 4:1 SLS-1000R inserters and four AF-100 hopper loaders.
The subsidiary of Daily News Ltd., Port-of-Spain, was founded by Therese Mills, former editor-in-chief of the Trinidad Guardian, the republic's oldest daily.
GMA also recently sold 22 additional AF300 hopper loaders to the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune, which operates two 14:2 standard SLS3000 inserters, two dual-delivery SLS3000 units (18:2 and 40:2), and six AF300 hopper loaders.
GMA said it has accelerated its manufacturing this year, shipping 22 SLS3000 inserters, six SLS-1000 inserters, 12 CombiStack bundle-building systems, three Press-to-Hopper interfaces, two lines of NewsGrip A single-gripper conveyor, one PowerWrap system, and 140 AF300 hopper loaders.
