By: E&P Staff Per Mikael Jensen has been named president and CEO of Metro International, effective Nov. 1. Pelle T?rnberg, the current president and CEO, is leaving the company on July 31. Chief Operating Officer Chris Spalding will act as interim CEO until November.
Currently Jensen is CEO of TV2 Denmark but he has worked with Metro before as global editor in chief.
Dennis Malamatinas, chairman of Metro International until November, said in a statement: "[Jensen] brings a long and broad experience from the media industry, a strong commitment to creating unique and successful content, and a recent track record of improving profitability in TV2 Denmark."
Jensen has held management positions at several Danish newspapers including Politiken and Jyllandsposten.
"I am thrilled to re-join Metro International, which I believe is one of the most interesting media companies there is," Jensen said.
