Trudeau to Receive 'Freedom of Speech' Honor

By: E&P Staff "Doonesbury" creator Garry Trudeau will receive the annual Freedom of Speech Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, which takes place Feb. 9-13 in Aspen, Col.

Hosting the prize ceremony will be another Universal Press Syndicate cartoonist, "The Boondocks" creator Aaron McGruder.

Other recipients of the Freedom of Speech Award include filmmaker/author Michael Moore, playwright August Wilson, and comedians George Carlin, Dick Gregory, and Bill Maher.

Also being honored this year are actor Jim Carrey, director Christopher Guest, and writers of "The Harvard Lampoon."
