By: E&P Staff The comic "Bleeker: The Rechargeable Dog" has been optioned for TV by Toronto's Radical Sheep Productions, which plans an animated series aimed at children 6-12.
Jonathan Mahood's online humor strip is about a hapless, loveable robotic toy canine and his 10-year-old owner Skip. Bleeker can fetch -- but also fax, download e-mail, take a GPS reading, and do other un-dog-like things.
The strip started on ComicsSherpa.com last July and moved to GoComics.com this February. Both sites are affiliated with Universal Press Syndicate.
ComicsSherpa.com allows aspiring cartoonists (or established cartoonists with new ideas) to post their work. To appear on GoComics.com, strips have to be syndicated or otherwise selected.
