By: E&P Staff The Livingston Awards for Young Journalists as well as The International Center for Journalists have announced their prizes.
The $10,000 Livingston Awards for Young Journalists in local, national and international reporting were announced by Dean Baquet of The New York Times, Tom Brokaw of NBC News and Ellen Goodman of The Boston Globe. The awards are limited to journalists under the age of 35 and are the largest prizes in the country for all media and general reporting.
The Livingston Awards also honors a senior professional who has been a outstanding mentor with a $5,000 prize. An additional, one-time citation was awarded for work inspiring young journalists. The winners can be seen
here.The International Center for Journalists also named its 13 World Affairs Journalism Fellows. The group of reporters from around the country will spend up to three weeks abroad reporting on issues that are relevant to their local communities, such as terrorism, globalization and climate change. The fellowship covers travel and reporting expenses abroad and provides each Fellow with a mentor. The winners can be seen
