By: E&P Staff Sandusky Newspapers Inc. and The Times News, Lehighton, Pa., selected the Ad Sales platform from Mediaspectrum, Inc., Burlington, Mass., to support a self-service approach for reaching new advertisers.

The Ad Sales portal allows advertisers to book, build and manage ads from one place, where users can log in and create multi-channel campaigns for print, Web and rich media. Part of Mediaspectrum's cloud computing platform, Ad Sales enables media companies to adopt the technology immediately, with no upfront IT and software expense, allowing publishers to quickly and implement a self-service advertising model.

Sandusky anticipates offering competitive pricing and ad options to more local businesses with Ad Sales, according to Sandusky Digital Vice President Doug Olsson.

Ad Sales enables advertisers, working from almost anywhere, to quickly access account information, make edits and build ads online without complex tools, encouraging a streamlined, cost-effective approach for customer-centric sales and new revenue, according to Mediaspectrum.

"Self-service advertising presents a very exciting alternative for reaching new, local advertisers," Times News Publisher Fred Masenheimer said in a statement.
