By: E&P Staff There are new promotions at Andrews McMeel Publishing, following Thomas N. Thornton's January announcement that he'll retire as AMP's president and CEO at the end of 2005.

Also announced last month was that AMP Vice President of Sales and Marketing Hugh T. Andrews will succeed Thornton.

Today, AMP said Dan Boston will be promoted from assistant vice president and national sales director to replace Andrews as vice president of sales and marketing. Also, Lynne McAdoo will be promoted from assistant vice president of AMP's Client Publishers division to the position Boston is leaving.

Boston joined AMP as director of key accounts in 1999 after working more than eight years with Hearst Magazines and more than 12 years with Random House. McAdoo joined AMP in 1998 as sales manager of Client Publishers.

AMP -- a sister company to Universal Press Syndicate -- publishes up to 300 titles a year. Its lineup of authors includes syndicated cartoonists and columnists.
