By: E&P Staff United Media today is launching a weekly poker column by Phil Hellmuth, a nine-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion.
"Hellmuth's Hold'em" clients include Denver's Rocky Mountain News, the Detroit Free Press, and the Wisconsin State Journal in Hellmuth's hometown of Madison.
In the column, Hellmuth shares anecdotes from his experiences at the table to illustrate a specific poker strategy, and explains "Texas Hold'em" techniques and tactics. Each United piece comes with a graphic.
Hellmuth -- who won his first WSOP title in 1989 (at age 24) and ranks second on the all-time WSOP money list with $3.6 million -- writes a column for "Card Player" magazine and has authored two HarperCollins books: "Play Poker Like the Pros" and "Bad Beats and Lucky Draws." He also does commentary for poker tournaments and is a frequent guest on ESPN.
