Universal Introduces 'Creating Spaces'

By: E&P Staff A home-remodeling column called "Creating Spaces" is being offered by Universal Press Syndicate.

The previously self-distributed weekly feature is by architecturally trained Marcia Lyon, whose Creating Spaces firm is based in Chicago. She has been in private practice since 1977 and judged the Better Homes and Gardens Home Improvement Contest for a decade.

"She interviews the family about their wants and needs and then designs a plan to solve their remodeling dilemma, saving them as many dollars as possible," said Lisa Tarry, associate editor at Universal.

Column clients include the Detroit Free Press and The Kansas City (Mo.) Star.
