UPDATE: NiemanLab Finally Posts 'Confidential' AP Document in Full

Posted
By: Joe Strupp Nieman Lab's Zachary Stewart, who first wrote yesterday about the seven-page Associated Press document he obtained that outlines AP's plans to track content online, added more from the report today, notably what he describes as plans for "news guide landing pages."

In his latest post, Stewart says they "will aggregate the AP's content around subjects, places, organizations, and people."

"Think of the topic pages on sites like The Chicago Tribune, BBC, and others," he writes. "Except that the AP will be harnessing its vast network of members and customers in what could amount to a brilliant SEO play."

Previously, Nieman Lab had revealed that AP's plans included an effort to prevent members and clients from publishing some AP content on their websites, instead directing them to a central AP website for the information.

UPDATE: Finally, late in the afternoon, the Lab posted the entire document.
