Upgrades to net-linx Ad Systems

By: E&P Staff Longtime Sii/net-linx user the Charlotte (N.C.) Observer will upgrade its advertising system with the net-linx CZAR II system. The upgrade brings the paper onto the same platform as other McClatchy Newspapers sites, which will allow the group's dailies to share resources, according to net-linx.

With CZAR II, the Observer will be able to package its daily and weekly publications onto a single order using its 76 advertising workstations. The upgrade, which will include implementing the CoyoteXA client, is designed to automate ad workflow and ad-content management, as well as increase scheduling flexibility.

Across the world, meanwhile, Perth-based West Australian Newspapers will upgrade its System/77 advertising system and hardware to the new HP ServerNet 7802 Non-Stop server, which replaces the current hardware. The system will support more than 180 advertising clients.

The Australian publisher opted to lease the system, which includes the hardware, software and support, using a new payment option offered by net-linx.
