Metro US, the group publisher of free commuter dailies in New York City, Boston and Philadelphia, will share content in a cross-platform arrangement with MTV2.

Metro will become MTV2’s Northeast content partner, delivering news stories as a “News Break” every hour from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. on MTV2’s AMTV. Metro will feature MTV2 content in the TV Watch List in Metro Entertainment sections, and highlight MTV2 programming as part of its must-see programs of the week.

"Like Metro, MTV is a globally recognized brand for the young media consumer, and there is a powerful correlation between what MTV2 viewers and Metro readers value in news and entertainment,” Metro Editor in Chief Tony Metcalf said in a statement.

“We’re always looking to increase our audience’s awareness of our programming, as well as provide them access to the news that impacts their lives,” said Carlo DiMarco, MTV2’s vice president of strategic partnerships, MTV2. “This partnership with Metro accomplishes both by providing regular morning news updates via AMTV2 and weekly programming spotlights via Metro’s TV Watch list.”
