'USA Today' Charts McCain/Obama Poll -- at 7-11 Stores

By: E&P Staff You've heard of "quicky" polls but what about Kwik-E-Mart polls?

USA Today every week is releasing results from a unique poll taken at 7-11 stores who are forecasting the election by asking visitors to fill up their coffee in red or blue cups labeled with names of McCain and Obama. They say that the same "survey" accurately picked winners the last two times out, with Bush edging Gore by 1% and then topping Kerry by 2%.

So far Obama is amped up, but does it matter a hill of beans? He's leading McCain 58% to 42%, with the latter taking only New Hampshire, Idaho and West Virginia so far.
