By: E&P Staff USA Today has announced availability on the mobile Android Market of an easy-to-navigate free application, with the USA Today look and feel, that provides access to the latest news stories, weather, photos and interactive polls.
USA Today for Android (www.usatoday.com/android) offers the following features: News, Money, Sports, Life, Tech and Travel headlines and story sharing via e-mail, text message or Twitter: USA Today Snapshots, with voting on a poll question for each and response review, with state and city filters; latest professional and college sports scores, with colleges filtered by conference; current weather, latest regional radar, five-day location-based forecast via GPS, national weather maps, temperature and precipitation forecasts; the day's best news, sports, celebrity, science, travel and weather images.
Developed in cooperation with Mercury Intermedia, Brentwood, Tenn., the free USA Today application also supports various rich-media mobile advertising executions, including click-to-call, click-to-maps using the user's GPS location, and video. Campaigns can be targeted to the News, Money, Sports, Life, Tech or Travel sections.
