By: E&P Staff USA Today has entered an agreement to use Demand Media's content to power the Nation's Newspaper travel site. A new section was created called
Travel Tips that provides readers with "how to" type of information.
According to Alex Pham, who
wrote about the deal in the Los Angeles Times, this is all part of Demand Media's strategy to grow. "It's an opportunity for us to get in front of the audience that's already congregating around very well-known brands," Dave Panos, Demand chief marketing officer, told Pham.
Demand Media publishes thousands of articles a day from an army of thousands of freelancers who take marching orders according to search engine optimization results. Demand's database contains more than 1 million articles on various topics.
The deal between the two companies does not require payment from USA Today instead both companies are sharing revenue generated from the content.
