'USA Today' Unveils Travel-centric iPhone App 'AutoPilot'

By: E&P Staff On Wednesday, USA Today announced its new travel-centric iPhone application, AutoPilot. The free app is sponsored by Hampton Hotels and offers multiple traveler-friendly features, including a flight tracker, travel information directory, weather forecasts, and USA Today blogs.

The app also features a variety of customized Hampton integrations including the ability to map locations and book reservations at over 1,700 Hampton properties nationwide, and receive Hampton?s local area restaurant and attraction information.

?USA Today is synonymous with travel. Travelers love us and we love being everywhere they need us with innovative new products,? Matt Jones, vice president of mobile strategy and operations for Gannett Digital, said in a statement.

The application was designed and developed in cooperation with Mercury Intermedia of Brentwood, Tenn. The application is available from Apple?s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore. For additional information, go here.
