By: 'Sydney Extra' Supplement To Appear Daily During Olympics

USA Today has partnered with Xerox Corp. to produce a 'Sydney
Extra'

supplement for the American daily's subscribers in Sydney.

With USA Today's Asian printing office in Hong Kong, the paper's

coverage of the Olympics would be incomplete after a 10-hour
airplane

delivery route.

So USA Today will produce the four-page supplement using Xerox's

digital printing technology. The content will be compiled and
produced by USA Today staff for electronic delivery to Corporate Documentation Management Ltd., a commercial print shop in Sydney.

The Gannett-owned daily will print 8,000 copies of the
11-by-17-inch supplement on high-speed Xerox DocuTech printing
systems.
