By: E&P Staff Manugraph DGM Inc., Elizabethville, Pa., sold new press equipment to Sun Publications, the Bradentown, Fla., division of Independent Publications Inc. of Pa., and to Ricter Web Printing, Brantford, Ont.
Sun Publications bought a DGM 440 tower with an ultraviolet curing system for printing on coated stock. It also will install a 24-unit DGM 430 press to be moved from Telegraph Publishing, an Independent Publications sister company in Hudson, N.H., as well as two DGM 1030 folders.
Both DGM presses will go into a new plant in Lakeland, Fla. Installation will begin next month, with completion expected in the fall.
While the new plant will produce mostly Sun Publications titles, including shoppers and community newspapers that circulate throughout central and southwest Florida, is also will handle some commercial work suited to the new equipment.
Ricter Web Printing purchased four DGM 430 units configured as a four-high tower. It is the company's second such purchase from Manugraph DGM. Installation will be completed over the next few weeks.
Family-owned Ricter Web Printing produces newspapers and magazines, directories and catalogs.
