Van Gennep Puts Planning into WoodWing System

By: E&P Staff Van Gennep - M.A.C., based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and New York, is working with WoodWing, based in Zandaam, The Netherlands, to connect WoodWing's Smart Connection Enterprise editorial system, based on Adobe Systems' leading InDesign and InCopy, and Van Gennep's PlanMaker edition-planning tool.

The work is designed to offer Smart Connection Enterprise users increased page-planning and production control. PlanMaker will provide visual edition-planning capability not formerly available to WoodWing customers.

Through visual monitoring of a publication's copy and design progress, PlanMaker helps in identifying problems earlier and managing deadlines more effectively.

A special version of PlanMaker will be available this summer through "via a reseller channel" as a Smart Connection Enterprise plug-in. It also will be available as part of Van Gennep's PlanSystem3 workflow-management system, providing remote connectivity, automatic job creation, and edition versioning.
