Vancouver Papers To Run CityXpress Sections

By: Lower Mainland Publishing Group Inc.'s 14 VanNet newspapers in the Vancouver area will run the Xpress Special Sections created by CityXpress.com Corp., also of Vancouver, British Columbia.

CityXpress creates special sections for newspaper Web sites. The sections include editorial content and advertising/promotion slots that can be sold to local advertisers. The sections include Home & Garden, Dining & Entertainment, Weddings, and Automotive.

Lower Mainland is a subsidiary of CanWest Global Communications Corp. The VanNet group includes community newspapers such as Burnaby Now, Surrey New Community, Vancouver Courier, and North Shore News.

CityXpress announced last week that it has secured an additional investment of $1.5 million from Lee Enterprises of Davenport, Iowa. Lee's total investment in the company is $3 million. Some of Lee's newspapers run the online special sections.
