By: E&P Staff The Vdopia premium advertising network, with offices in San Jose, Calif., New York and Mumbai, has launched iVdopia, its iPhone 3G ad platform and network, making the iPhone a means to engage users anytime and anywhere, with a range of ad formats. Ads through iVdopia tap the 12 million iPhone users, who have so far downloaded 500 million applications.
The iVdopia network provides application developers with a large inventory of brand ads and the ability to serve their own ad campaigns. Pre-app video, logo placement, banner ads and sponsorship ads are available. The five- to 10-second videos that run while the application loads also can be tapped to allow a user to see a mini Web page, watch another video and place a call, making an ad more interactive.
Through Vdopia's BrandConnect Ads, iVdopia offers the advertising platform and an extensive ad network. It enables complete analytics for applications and ads, including information on how many times an application or ad reaches users, how long they stay engaged and how often they play ads.
"iVdopia focuses on providing the best experience to both brands and users by enabling the most advanced caching algorithms for uninterrupted user experience and lower ad latencies," Vdopia founder Srikanth Kakani said in a statement.
iPhone advertising already has higher engagement and recall owing to its visual, according to Vdopia, which calls it an "opportunity for effective branding experience - and even greater potential ROI - with its captive audience."
