By: (AP) Veronis Suhler, a media merchant bank, has promoted its head of private equity operations, Jeffrey Stevenson, to be co-chief executive. As a result, the firm will be renamed Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
Stevenson, who joined the firm in 1982 and was named a partner in 1998, serves on the boards of all 25 companies in which the bank's private investment affiliate, VS&A Communications Partners, holds stakes.
Veronis Suhler was founded in 1981 by former media executives John Veronis and John Suhler. Both men continue to serve as co-chief executives.
The bank advised the founders of
Fast Company magazine on its sale to G+J USA, the U.S. publishing division of the German media company Bertelsmann. It also advised The Brown Publishing Co. on its acquisition of Troy Daily News Inc.
