The Daily Press used to send out irregularly produced breaking news e-mails with space for only one advertiser When it launched Verican's Email Edition, it used its breaking-news subscriber list and e-mails collected from its classifieds database (Verican's Classifieds Order Entry) to immediately reach 10,000 people daily.

"We sent out our first edition in less than 24 hours," Publisher Stephan Wingert said in a statement. "We don't have to do anything more than what we were already doing."
