Village Voice Media LLC of New York acquired Ace Magazine yesterday. Actually a newspaper,
the biweekly alternative publication is based in Lexington, Ky. It has a circulation of
20,000.

Ace becomes the eighth publication in the new Village Voice group, created recently by Weiss,
Peck & Greer and a group of investors. Titles include the flagship Village Voice, LA Weekly,
Seattle Weekly, and City Pages of Minneapolis.

CEO David Schneiderman says former Ace owner Susan Yeary will remain on staff. He plans to
convert to a weekly format and double the staff size within two years.
