'Villiages Daily Sun' Implements PuzzleFlow Workflow Software

PuzzleFlow Solutions USA, Novi, Mich., has installed its workflow software at The Villages Media Group, publisher of The Villages Daily Sun, Lady Lake, Fla. The Villages Media Group chose PuzzleFlow Solutions' WebPairer and Automator to provide automated ad preflighting and validation, prepress, and page pairing.

The Daily Sun has begun using PuzzleFlow Automator to manage prepress input, workflow, preflight, ad production and size verification, and to perform automated file correction. PuzzleFlow WebPairer will be used to automatically generate imposed output and paired plate proofs and send CIP3 data to the press. The operation has also added Automator Light to manage secure upload, preflight and soft proofing over the Internet for commercial customers.

"When it came time to upgrade our workflow software, we were committed to finding a product that could keep up with our rapid growth," Villages Media IT Manager Byron Wooten said in a statement.

Boosted by residential and commercial growth, the Daily Sun has experienced circulation growth for the past five years and boasts 92% market penetration. Average paid daily circulation stands at 40,763, with peak-season circulation expected to top 50,000 this winter.
