WALL STREET JOURNAL ANNOUNCES HIGHER AD RATES

Dow Jones & Co. announced The Wall Street Journal's 2001 advertising rates will include a 5% increase for national advertising. For 2000, ad rates rose 4%.


Rates for four-color full page advertising in the national edition will rise 6.3%, while spot color full page ad rates will increase 6.8%. Black and white full page ad rates will go up 6.2%. The increases will take effect Jan. 2.


Rates for the Journal's European and Asian editions and WSJ.com will be announced later in the year.
