By: Staff Reports Sunday Journal Allows Newspapers To Buy News-only Version
The Wall Street Journal is expanding its Wall Street Journal Sunday
section to include a news-only offering that newspapers can integrate into
their Sunday business sections.
Journal staff will produce the news-only package that can be
configured to three- or four-page layouts. The new package allows
newspapers to sell their own local advertising for the section. The
Journal will charge a fee for the news-only package.
The Wall Street Journal already produces the Sunday Journal,
a weekly package that combines national advertising with articles
and information on personal finance and careers. The Sunday Journal
appears in 19 newspapers, nine of which signed on this week and will begin publishing on September 10.
The Wall Street Journal plans to close the Sunday Journal's
national ad network to new partners when a final group of newspapers
is announced later this year.
The Wall Street Journal and Sunday Journal are owned by Dow
Jones & Co. Inc.
