'Wall Street Journal' to Publish Nielsen BookScan Lists

Posted
By: Jennifer Saba The Wall Street Journal is now running three weekly book lists charting sales of hardcover fiction, non-fiction and business using Nielsen BookScan data.

The book charts are published in the print edition and WSJ.com every Friday. Additionally, Nielsen BookScan is providing WSJ.com with customized charts around other subject areas such as travel and cooking.

"This strategic alliance will allow the Journal to bring a greater variety of book charts to their readers, while also providing publishers with a higher level of visibility for their authors," Jim King, senior vice president and general manager for Nielsen BookScan, said in a statement.

Nielsen BookScan tallies weekly point-of-sales data for approximately 75% of general retail sales of English language books in the United States.

The Nielsen Co. owns Nielsen BookScan and Editor & Publisher.
