'War Made Easy' Authored by Columnist

By: E&P Staff Creators Syndicate columnist Norman Solomon has written "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death," a new hardcover from John Wiley & Sons.

Solomon examines U.S. government propaganda and mainstream-press coverage that have supported American military actions in places such as Vietnam and Iraq.

A positive review of "War Made Easy" in the June 29 Los Angeles Times stated: "The villains are the government and the media: the government because time and again it remorselessly falsifies the reality of war, and the media because major press and broadcast outlets can't seem to wriggle free from self-interest long enough to speak truth to power."

Solomon will be touring for the book this Sunday in Wilmington, Del.; July 14 in New York City; and five times in the San Francisco area between Aug. 8 and 13.
