Warren Buffett Appearance Marks Wire's Canadian Expansion

By: E&P Staff Warren Buffett -- chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, parent company of Business Wire (BW) -- is speaking tomorrow in Toronto to mark the wire's expansion into Canada.

"A Conversation with Warren Buffett," moderated by BW President/CEO Cathy Baron Tamraz, will give Canadian corporate executives a chance to ask questions and converse with Buffett -- whose company acquired BW in 2006.

The afternoon event will be at the Toronto Board of Trade, Downtown Centre.

BW recently announced its entry into the Canadian market with the opening of an office in Toronto's financial district. The company had previously did business in the Canadian market indirectly via reciprocal affiliations with other service providers.

Also, BW recently announced a distribution agreement with CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc.

BW transmits press releases and other material to clients that include newspapers.
