Washington Post Co. Launches 35th 'Gazette'

By: Todd Shields A Washington Post Co. subsidiary, the Community Newspaper Group of Post-Newsweek Media, has expanded with the launch Thursday of its 35th free-distribution weekly edition, one targeting the Sykesville and Eldersburg communities in Carroll County in northern Maryland.

The Gazette's new edition, distributed weekly to 15,000 addresses, serves areas some 30 miles north of Washington.

Overall, The Gazettedistributes more than 1 million weekly copies in 34 other free editions in three counties near Washington. It also publishes one paid-circulation weekend edition covering business and politics in Maryland.
