By: E&P Staff Hindustan Times, India's second largest English-language daily, has reached an agreement to carry news reporting, columnists, and reviews from The Washington Post. It also has an option to offer content from The Washington Post Co.'s Newsweek magazine.
The content-sharing deal, effective Jan. 1, is the second for parent company HT Media Ltd. Its business daily, Mint, launched three years ago, provides content from The Wall Street Journal.
Post Managing Editor Raju Narisetti was Mint's founding editor, and earlier served as the Wall Street Journal's deputy managing editor. Those three newspapers now also use the same EidosMedia cross-media editorial system.
According to MediaMughals, a Web site of the Media Guru Solutions consultancy based in Delhi, the latst deal allows the HT to publish Post content in a special section, with notice of the arrangement in the paper's main section. It adds that the content will not be shared with Mint or other of HT Media publications.
