W.B. Grimes Adds Two Sales People

By: E&P Staff Newspaper broker W.B. Grimes & Co. hired David Slavin and Mike Scott to handle mergers and acquisitions in the southeast and midwest regions.

Slavin is the founding publisher of the Woodlands (Texas) Villager and later served as a publisher of a North New Jersey community newspaper group. Slavin has consulted for newspaper companies including Gannett, Knight Ridder, Lee, Tribune, and CNHI.

Scott and his wife have been owners and publishers of a small group of weekly newspapers in northeast Missouri. He has also worked for newspapers, shoppers, and alternative delivery operations in Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, and Missouri.

Slavin is located in Sparta, N.J., and Scott is located in Kahoka, Mo.
