Weather Central and Universal Team Up

By: E&P Staff Universal Press Syndicate will succeed Tribune Media Services as the distributor of Weather Central information to print newspapers.

Uclick, a sibling company to Universal, had previously starting selling Weather Central's services to newspaper Web sites and other digital destinations on April 1.

Weather Central content includes customized weather pages based on the needs of each market. Also available are pollen counts, UV indexes, river levels, lake levels, reservoir levels, tide times and heights, sun and moon rises and sets, airport-delay forecasts, and more.

According to Universal, Weather Central clients include The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Chicago Tribune, the Denver Post, the Detroit Free Press, the Houston Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, The Orange County (Calif.) Register, and the Seattle Times.
