Google GOOGL +1.15% officially shuttered the Spanish version of its news service Tuesday morning, and publisher sites in Spain have seen their traffic dip since, according to data from Web analytics company Chartbeat.
In a move announced last week, the Google News Spain Web page ceased to provide access to content by Spanish media early Tuesday, in response to a new law requiring payment for the right to display snippets of content and headlines.
