In today's letters, readers respond to Georgia congresswoman Cynthia McKinney's complaint against the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and a reader says that biased media are flooding the world's war zones.***
On Rep. Cynthia McKinnon's Complaint Against the 'AJC'This frivolous lawsuit is just another attempt by McKinney to portray herself as a "victim" and energize a failing political campaign.
Ms. McKinney epitomizes everything that is wrong with politics today: vitriol, race-baiting, bullying, martyrism, and the 24-hour headline news splash.
My only regret is that I'm not a member of McKinney's district -- so I can't vote against her. Hopefully, her constituency will finally wise up, and throw this bum out -- AGAIN!!!

I thought for a minute that the defamation was that the newspaper claimed she was a hard working, sane rational individual.

Just as I expected! As soon as Cynthia McKinney knew she was not going to have to answer for her racist behavior, she puts herself in the limelight and sues.
This woman is a black racist who thinks she can do nothing wrong. Someday her actions will backfire, and she will no longer be a Congresswoman. It couldn't happen too soon.

When will this "joke" wake up and realize that she is at fault for the situation she has gotten herself into, and just withdraw her nomination for the office she is seeking. She has been nothing but a disappointment and has nothing to offer that will benefit the people of the district she claims to be supporting.

Plenty of Press in the Middle EastThe old media [adage] "If it bleeds, it leads" has never been more in evidence than in this latest Middle East conflict. One is simply awed by the sheer number of people with "Press"-emblazoned flak-jackets that accompany every person being moved via stretcher by aid providers. There are literally more media presence at the scenes of "tragic incidents" than there are aid workers. Soon the world is going to figure out just how stilted the game of providing the "news" really is. The Fourth Estate is alive and well in every combat theater in the world and the reporting is just as tainted by personal ideology as ever.
