Posted
By: Jennifer Saba The Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle reaches the most adults in its market with its print and online editions, a new report from Scarborough Research reveals.

Within its designated market area (DMA), 80% of adults read the Democrat and Chronicle's print or Web edition -- that percentage represents unduplicated print and online readers -- on a weekly basis.

The data is the latest from Scarborough?s Newspaper Penetration Report, which measures newspapers? integrated (combined print and online), print, and online audience for 81 of the top markets in the United States. It is issued twice a year.

The Democrat and Chronicle's integrated reach remains unchanged from the last time Scarborough issued the report last January, covering part of 2008.

Washingtonpost.com reaches the most adults in Washington, D.C. on a weekly basis at 24% -- the most of any newspaper Web site measured by Scarborough on the report. Washingtonpost.com grew its reach by one percentage point this report compared to the last one.
