For a few months now, the Associated Press has been publishing corporate earnings reports written entirely by computer programs. Except no one’s calling them “computer programs.

"AP’s ‘robot journalists’ are writing their own stories now,” the Verge wrote last week. “Robot-writing increased AP’s earnings stories by tenfold,” reported Poynter, an organization typically known for its thoughtful approach to journalistic word choice.
