Wifag Evolution 473/4 Towers for German Papers

By: E&P Staff A year-long Wifag press installation begins next April in Bielefeld-Sennestadt, Germany.

Replacing three presses with four evolution 473/4 towers, the work will proceed one section at a time on the new two-section press in order to allow uninterrupted production of the 16-edition Neue Westfaelische Zeitung, the Haller Kreisblatt, weeklies and newspaper-like products.

The towers consist of nine-cylinder satellite units with fully automatic plate changing, two KF 140 2:5:5 folders and four Wifag autopaster A 50 reelstands, which, along with the daily storage units, are fed automatically. The central control console and production planning system are supplied by ABB.
