Wifag Sells First Big Press Since Restructuring

After extensive restructuring, Swiss pressmaker Wifag marked the re-launch of business with its existing product portfolio with an order from an existing customer in India.

ABP Pvt. Ltd., publisher of the Bengali-language Anandabazar Patrika, has ordered a Wifag OF370S press comprising four full-color towers, four autopasters and other accessories. This new press will add capacity for 32 full-color broadsheet pages to the new plant on a Greenfield site just north of Kolkata, where production recently began on Wifag OF370S 84,000-copy-per-hour doublewide presses.

In addition to more than 1.17 million copies of Anandabazar Patrika, ABP Pvt. Ltd. also prints The Telegraph, the highest circulation English daily in Eastern India.

Designed to match the installed presses, the new OF370S will be delivered, installed and commissioned by Wifag in early 2012.
