By: E&P Staff The Philadelphia Daily News' Signe Wilkinson drew a scathing editorial cartoon today referring to the dangers media people face in covering the Iraq War.
In the
cartoon, Wilkinson shows a press person in a hospital bed -- hooked up to machines and swathed in bandages from head to toe. President Bush, standing over the grievously wounded journalist, says: "Get well soon so you can get back to covering all the good news in Iraq!"
Since 2003, more than 70 journalists have been killed in Iraq. That's higher than the number who died covering the Vietnam War or World War II.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning Wilkinson is syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group.
