William Plummer Named CFO of Dow Jones

By: E&P Staff William Plummer has been appointed executive vice president and CFO of Dow Jones & Co., effective Sept. 5. In his new role, Plummer will lead all finance functions as well as investor relations, real estate, facilities and purchasing. He reports to CEO Rich Zannino.

Plummer, 47, is currently vice president and treasurer at aluminum producer Alcoa. He also serves on the board of directors of John Wiley & Sons. Plummer also was president of one of the Mead Corp.?s operating unites. Prior to that, he spent several years at General Electric in executive financial management roles.

Plummer replaces Chris Vieth who has been vice president and CFO since July 2002. Vieth is leaving the company.
