By: Jennifer Saba Next year, Chicago will play host to two back-to-back conferences hosted by the Newspaper Association of America: Nexpo and the annual convention for publishers. The two events are scheduled between April 1 and 4, 2006.
The reason for the combo? ?We heard from many newspaper executives who attend NAA's other major conferences that they'd like to occasionally have the opportunity to experience Nexpo,? said Reggie Hall, the NAA's senior vice president.
?We also had a clear message from exhibitors that, in addition to the technology and operations executives, they'd like to have contact with people from marketing, business, and editorial areas," Hall added. "All these executives influence buying decisions ranging from front end systems to presses and bringing everyone together enhances the events for attendees and exhibitors."
This week, the NAA wrapped up Nexpo 2005 and its Marketing Conference in Dallas. In 2008, Nexpo, the publishers convention, and the American Society of Newspaper Editors convention will meet in Washington, D.C.
