Gatehouse Media CEO Kirk Davis saw his 2015 compensation more than double, thanks in no small part to the company's acquisition and subsequent sale of the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Davis' 2015 total compensation was just over $2.1 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. His total compensation in 2014 was $918,000.
