By: (AP) E. John Wolfzorn, treasurer of the E.W. Scripps Co., will take on added duties as a vice president, the company said.

Wolfzorn, 56, will work more closely with Scripps' pension fund investment managers, taking over that duty from Daniel Castellini, who retired in May as chief financial officer.

Wolfzorn, who joined the company as a financial analyst in 1973, became treasurer in 1979.

Also Friday, Scripps hired Vikki Neil as director of online marketing for the company's newspapers, effective Aug. 30. She will be based in Knoxville, Tenn.

Neil, 29, rejoins Scripps after spending a year as Internet advertising manager for The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times. She previously was senior technical program manager for the Disney Co.'s Internet division; sales and marketing manager for the Scripps-owned Knoxville News-Sentinel; and director of new media for WFTS-TV, the Scripps-owned ABC affiliate in Tampa, Fla.

Scripps, based in Cincinnati, operates 21 daily newspapers, 10 broadcast television stations, and four cable channels. Its operations also include Scripps Howard News Service, 31 Web sites, and United Media, which syndicates and licenses the "Peanuts" and "Dilbert" comic strips, among others.
