By: E&P Staff WoodWing Software, Zaandam, The Netherlands, and Tansa Systems, Oslo, Norway, announced a partnership to ensure compatibility between their systems, formalizing an existing relationship and allowing for cross-marketing, joint events and other cooperation.

WoodWing offers multichannel publishing tools for publishing and corporate communications. Tansa brings advanced, centralized text proofing to Adobe InDesign, InCopy and Web-based text editors -- key components of WoodWing's Enterprise publishing system. Incorporating Tansa's ability to check for wording and style optimizes the editing process.

"It is our experience that companies still spend too much time on their copy-editing processes," Tansa Systems Managing Director Morten Kr?t? said in announcing the partnership. "Tansa helps reduce spelling mistakes, saves copy-editing time and ensures consistency."

"We are always looking for technology partners supporting our product philosophy," WoodWing Software President Erik Schut said. "The text-proofing tools offered by Tansa Systems fully match this philosophy."

Tansa functionality goes beyond spellchecking. Its centrally stored, customized dictionaries -- which learn from customers' usage, can be shared across applications. As a Web-based system, it also can be shared across locations. Tansa text-proofing can check for word usage, style, punctuation, hyphenation and consistent spelling of names. Several customizable dictionaries can run off a single server, handling multiple languages and different language profiles.
